Electronic Invoicing (eInvoicing)

Digitalization of invoicing and tax reporting is a legal requirement that is being adopted by more countries every year. The main goal of this digitalization process is to prevent tax evasion, increase efficiency and digitalize the economy.

To help companies adopt this new paradigm, SAP created SAP Document and Reporting Compliance solution. SAP offers a common framework, known as eDocument framework, that serves as a single access point for a better customer experience across the enterprise.

Standard

For communication with the different tax authorities, the standard SAP solution uses either SAP Integration Suite (Cloud Integration capability) or SAP Document and Reporting Compliance application, cloud edition.

 Altogether, SAP Document and Reporting Compliance offers a standardized solution for many countries covering the end-to-end process.

Hybrid

Hybrid solution utilise SAP DRC solution with the exception that SAP middleware part is substituted with either SAP Integration Suite (CI) or SAP PO which assures message transformation, connectivity, encryption and signing.

This solution leverages the following key components:

  • eDocument Cockpit
  • SAP Application Interface Framework (SAP AIF)
  • SAP Integration Suite (CI) or SAP Process Orchestration (SAP PO)**

eDocument Cockpit together with AIF framework (license needed) give a standard look and feel as SAP Standard solution – while SAP PO or SAP Integration Suite (CI) does the rest.

This solution warranties that any modification in TAX information will be updated by SAP and it will require a minimum effort to implement it.

One of the benefits it´s that the Archiving of the Document can be done in the company Archiving service*, and there is no dependency of 3rd parties that increment the implementation and maintenance price.

Recommended for companies that already have SAP PO or SAP Integration Suite (CI) as main platform and have no business reasons to invest in another applications.

Custom

With no additional license cost (SAP AIF, SAP Integration Suite**) the solution leverages well known standard SAP IDoc (or other integration technics) and SAP PO or SAP Integration Suite (license needed) for mapping and security (signing and encryption).

For monitoring purpose, Code10 cockpit is introduced to keep an eye on status of each document that was transferred to Tax Authority.

This is recommended for companies that must submit invoices to only a few countries.

One of the benefits it is that the archiving of the document can be done in the company Archiving service*, and there is no dependency of 3rd parties that increment the implementation and maintenance price.

Recommended for companies that relies on SAP PO or SAP Integration Suite and does not plan to use AIF neither have business case to introduce SAP Integration Suite**
