From complexity to clarity in eCompliance
Compliance is nobody’s core business, but tax authorities make it unavoidable. More and more countries are adopting e-invoicing and e-reporting mandates, with new requirements arriving every year up to ViDA, which comes into force on 1 July 2030.
At Code10 TechTalks 2026, Ana Shopovski Mitrovich, Managing Partner and eCompliance Product Owner at Code10, explained how to stop treating compliance as a series of separate projects and build a strategy that scales.
Why country-by-country doesn’t scale
When every country or legal requirement becomes its own project, companies end up with silos, duplicated effort and no global view across finance, tax, IT and integration. Each change costs more than the last, and maintenance becomes harder over time. Ana argues for a different approach: a stable common base, built once and extended for each new requirement.
Three ways to implement
- SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC): SAP’s native solution, with a single cockpit, real-time monitoring and a compliance calendar. It is powerful, but it is not plug-and-play and needs ongoing maintenance.
- Code10 eCompliance Hub: Code10’s own product, based on UBL, which covers requirements DRC doesn’t, such as JPK in Poland, SAF-T in Lithuania, VeriFactu and TicketBAI. It integrates with the DRC cockpit, so users work from one place.
- eCompliance as a Service: a subscription model for companies without their own middleware or broker.
Keys to a successful project
Ana closes with what makes these projects work: a clear scope, clean data, knowledge of both the law and the system, testing as rigorous as a year-end close, and a partner who stays involved after go-live.
