Can an AI agent build your integrations?
Building in Boomi is simple, but it can be repetitive: connections, profiles, operations, mappings and processes, followed by debugging through execution logs. Boomi Companion aims to change that by turning plain-language instructions into complete, deployed processes.
At Code10 TechTalks 2026, Sergio Martínez, CTO and Managing Partner at Code10, put Boomi Companion to the test.
How it works
Boomi Companion is an agent that runs in your own AI tool, such as Claude Code or Codex, and connects to your Boomi platform. It reads the documentation, checks your existing components, builds them locally, then deploys, runs and checks the logs. It uses loop engineering: if something fails, it tries again without waiting for you.
Two live demos
- Build: from a single prompt, Boomi Companion created a process that reads sales orders from S/4HANA via OData and writes them to SFTP folders by sales organisation and month. It reused existing connections, spotted its own error and fixed it, all in about 10 minutes.
- Debug: given a bug report with no hints, it found a planted mapping error (minutes instead of month) in about 3 minutes by checking the mapping’s version history, just as a senior developer would.
Security and limitations
Sergio explains what stays safe and what doesn’t. Every change requires approval, and API tokens and passwords never reach the LLM, but process metadata does, so an enterprise AI account is essential. Boomi Companion is a free developer tool with no SLA, runs take minutes, and tokens cost money. His recommendation: build and test in a sandbox, and keep people reviewing before production.
