CEAMSA is an international business group specialised in the production and worldwide distribution of natural origin texturizers such as carrageenan, pectin, fibre, alginate and locust bean gum, which are characterised by their stabilizing, gelling, thickening and texturizing properties for the food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals industries.
Since it was founded in 1966, CEAMSA has been bringing texture to products all over the world. Quality, sustainability and innovation are the three pillars that guide CEAMSA’s development to consolidate its position in the segment of natural origin texturizers, always committed to excellence in service and customer satisfaction.
Due to its worldwide position, CEAMSA had to incorporate new systems from different suppliers and faced the need to centralize the management of external parties. The company’s ERP system, SAP Business One, required middleware to be able to create interfaces and easily manage the new suppliers, systems and tools that come with them. With this, CEAMSA was able to provide a standardisation of its services and expose them as APIs for its business’ partners.

Code10 proposed the adoption of an API led integration strategy, which would help CEAMSA have unique and better control of all their business processes. To achieve that, our team implemented SAP API Management within SAP Integration Suite (IS) as an entry point between SAP Business One and the external trading systems.
SAP Integration Suite is a scalable and flexible solution that supports organisations to change and adapt as they grow and meet new challenges. It is based on the cloud and allows third parties to connect via APIs with different providers (ERPs, Databases…), offering an electronic data interchange (EDI) standard to CEAMSA’s suppliers. This simplifies the sharing of structured data between several different systems.
Integration Suite also offers monitoring tools, usage metrics, and high security standards for the safety of data interchange. It allows companies to adapt and modify the programs’ logic using SAP Cloud Integration, according to their needs and to what data is interesting for each of them, and provides a Developer Hub, where all APIs are stored and available.
With this implementation, CEAMSA can now efficiently manage all materials, orders, and deliveries, exposing them to different systems such as Salesforce and APS. Whenever a new business partner enters its ecosystem, CEAMSA can easily add it to its business.
