SAP knowledge does not only grow through documentation, certifications or implementation projects. It also grows through the professionals who share their experience, answer questions, organize local events and help others navigate an increasingly complex SAP ecosystem.
During Code10 TechTalks 2025, SAP Champions David Ruiz and Lluís Salvador introduced the SAP Community and explained how consultants, developers, architects, customers and partners can use it to learn, build professional connections and contribute to the wider SAP ecosystem.
More than a technical forum
SAP Community is a global meeting point for professionals working across the SAP landscape. Members can ask and answer technical questions, publish articles, exchange implementation experiences and connect with other specialists from around the world.
The platform brings together functional consultants, developers, integration experts, architects, customers, partners and SAP employees. Its value does not come only from finding a solution to a specific technical problem, but from the knowledge continuously shared by the people working with SAP technologies every day.
David and Lluís also highlighted the importance of creating a complete SAP Community profile. Beyond being a place to participate in discussions, the profile can become a professional reference that reflects a member’s expertise, contributions and involvement in the community.
Learning and professional development
SAP Community is closely connected with the wider SAP learning ecosystem. Through SAP Learning, professionals can explore learning journeys, prepare for certifications and find resources adapted to different technologies and levels of experience.
Community groups and forums also provide an additional layer of support. Members can discuss certification paths, ask questions about particular SAP products and learn from professionals who have already faced similar challenges.
This combination of structured learning and practical community knowledge can help professionals develop their careers while remaining up to date with new SAP technologies and implementation approaches.
Connecting SAP professionals locally
One of the most valuable developments within SAP Community is the creation of location groups. These groups bring together SAP professionals who live or work in the same city or region.
Members can join local groups to discover events, meet other professionals and participate in conversations relevant to their local SAP ecosystem. Where a group does not yet exist, active community members can also propose and help create one.
The SAP Community Barcelona group is an example of how online collaboration can develop into a strong local network. It enables professionals from different companies, roles and backgrounds to meet, share knowledge and create new opportunities for collaboration.
SAP Champions and community recognition
David Ruiz and Lluís Salvador are part of the SAP Champions program, which recognizes professionals who actively support and grow SAP Community.
SAP Champions contribute by sharing knowledge, answering questions, publishing content, organizing events and helping other professionals participate in the SAP ecosystem. Unlike a traditional company role, this recognition reflects their voluntary contribution to the community.
During the session, they also introduced the SAP Mentors program, which recognizes highly experienced SAP professionals who provide expert feedback and maintain close conversations with SAP teams.
Community badges offer another way to acknowledge participation. Members can earn them through different activities and contributions, creating a visible record of their involvement within SAP Community.
From online collaboration to SAP Inside Track
SAP Community does not end online. Community members also organize local events known as SAP Inside Track, where professionals volunteer to share their experience and knowledge with others.
These events provide an informal environment for technical sessions, discussions and networking. They also allow speakers, attendees, customers and partners to connect beyond their usual projects or organizations.
David and Lluís are among the professionals behind SAP Inside Track Barcelona, an event that has helped strengthen the local SAP network and create a space where the community can meet face to face.
Join the SAP Community
The main message of the session was simple: SAP Community grows when professionals participate.
Asking a question, sharing an implementation experience, joining a local group or attending an SAP Inside Track can become the first step towards building new professional relationships and learning from specialists outside your usual network.
