SAP will end the maintenance for its PI/PO integration platform in December 2027. For this reason, companies need to migrate their systems to another software to make sure they keep up with the latest security and compliance standards, as well as new functionalities.
This cloud migration, however, should not be considered only as an obligation. At Code10, we believe that such transformation provides the opportunity to create and build the governance and architecture of infrastructure for the next two decades – not only to migrate from one software to another, keeping the same issues in the new platform.
To speed up the journey to SAP Integration Suite (IS), we use the Code10 CI Accelerator: a set of tools, methodology and governance that support our customers in improving their systems while making the necessary changes specified by SAP.
SAP migration from PI/PO: Code10’s methodology
The Code10 CI Accelerator is an SAP Validated Partner Use Case (VPUC), available in the SAP store. Its methodology goes as follows:
- Migration assessment: we provide a detailed assessment to identify the challenges and the redefinitions of infrastructure that will be necessary, including scenarios that must be refactored. The assessment results in a comprehensive migration plan.
- Proposal: at this stage, we recommend a work methodology based on waves (the Code10 Activate Methodology). We start with simpler waves, so that our customers can get used to the tool, and move on to the most complex waves. This execution enables testing at early stages, almost overlapping this task with development.
- Execution: further on, we start the migration with integration content built by SAP or patterns from Code10.
- Training: we explain to our customers how we manage the platform, what are the capabilities of BTP, how to migrate interfaces, how to use different apps and more – so the customer is fully aware of the system they have in hands.
- Go Live and Hypercare: we start the handover process of the project, with support via our AMS Service.
The Code10 CI Accelerator is delivered in two parts:
– Add-ons: integration content in packages, covering all possible integration scenarios.
– Apps: apps installed in the BTP to improve monitoring, governance and usability.
